Chelsea Football Club

Stamford Bridge is the home ground of Chelsea Football Club and is located in Fulham, London. It initially opened as a sporting arena on 28 April 1877 and for the first 27 years of its existence, it was used almost exclusively by the Victorians for athletics meetings held by the London Athletic Club. The stadium was initially offered to Fulham Football Club, however it was turned down and instead accepted by Chelsea Football Club in March 1905. The current capacity of the stadium is 41,798 and is the eighth largest ground in the Premier League. The capacity has remained rather limited, forcing the club to consider a construction of a new stadium in West London.
