Important Numbers
There are several important numbers that you need to know, just in case any emergency occurred whilst you are in London we have you covered with the following numbers.
Please note: With all the below numbers depending on your mobile phone provider, or whether you are calling from an international Sim you will need to check charges as they will vary. If you are calling directly from your hotel please also check phone charges as they can be quite high.
CALLING IN THE UK
- The code when calling into the UK (when outside the UK or on a roaming sim card) is: +44 and the Local code when already in the UK is 020.
- Call 999 direct from your phone in case of any real general emergency, ask the operator to direct you to the police or fire department or the ambulance, or coast guard depending on the situation. The call is free and the lines are open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. You can call 100 or 155 if you have any problems with the emergency number or if the lines are busy.
- To report a non-urgent crime, call the police on 101 from within the UK.
- Medical emergency that is not life threatening, you should use the NHS 111 service.
- Call 111 - if you need medical help fast but it's not a 999 emergency. You think you need to go to A&E or need another NHS urgent care service.
- For Direct Enquiries to find certain information like a particular number or address please dial 118 118 (Premium Number – please check call charges) from within the UK.
- For any Gas leak or Emergency:
dial 0800 111 999, your call will be routed to the National Grid call centre.
It doesn't matter what time of day or night you ring - they have trained operators working round-the-clock waiting to take your call.
