Conquer Mount Kinabalu



DESCRIPTION

Standing at 4,095m above sea level, Mount Kinabalu, meaning ‘the revered place of the dead’ from the Kadazan word ‘Aki Nabalu’ is the highest mountain between the Himalayas and New Guinea. This mountain, mythical to the local Kadazan Dusun people, represents a challenge for all who attempt to reach its summit, yet is one of the safest and most conquerable peaks in the world. This incredible experience is for two people and includes private car transfer to Kinabalu Park where you will spend the first night in a local hostel and dine at the Balsam restaurant. After an early breakfast, you will proceed to the Timpohon Gate to register for your climb. Your English-speaking guide will arrange all required permits and ID tags before leading you on your 4 to 6-hour ascent to Laban Rata, arriving late afternoon, where you will stay and rest after an early dinner buffet. On day 3 at approx. 0100hrs, you will wake for an early breakfast and depart for the ascent towards the summit of Mount Kinabalu. The journey up to the Low’s peak at 4,095m will test your fitness and determination. Depending on speed of trekking and weather, the goal will be to experience a glorious sunrise over the majestic mountain. You will then descend back to Laban Rata for late breakfast and check out around lunchtime, before beginning the trek down for transfer back to the Kinabalu Park HQ and to collect your personal climb certificate! A private car will await you and transfer you to the 5* luxury Shangri-la’s Rasa Ria Resort to stay overnight at a Premier Ocean Wing room to celebrate your successful climb before being taken to Kota Kinabula Airport to return home. Flights are not included but can be arranged.  All food and drink is included for the duration of the ascent and descent but not on the final night’s stay at Shangri-La Rasa Ria.  All camping equipment is provided however guests are required to bring appropriate climbing attire, personal medical suppliers and toiletries.  Dates are subject to availability and by agreement.
